What the Timanfaya National Park tickets cost
CACT Lanzarote prices the general ticket for the Route of the Volcanoes visit at Montañas del Fuego at €30.00, and its ticket card shows that price against a 90-minute visit slot offered every day.[1] Children aged 0 to 6 enter free.[1]
CACT offers a special price to Canary Islands residents, Lanzarote residents and people with disabilities. These rates cannot be combined and are only available at the ticket offices on presentation of physical documents: a DNI or NIE for residents, or a passport or identity card for citizens of the EU and the Schengen Area.[3] That rule is written for CACT centres in general, while CACT also states there are no box-office sales at Montañas del Fuego, so ask CACT how a reduced rate is applied there before you travel.[2]
Timanfaya National Park price and what's included
The €30.00 general ticket bundles a 35-minute coach route along the Route of the Volcanoes and the geothermal demonstrations at Islote de Hilario.[1] Travellers who want a smaller group can instead book the Insólita Experience, a guided upgrade priced at €46.30 that departs at 08:45, runs for 120 minutes, and only leaves on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.[1]
CACT's rules say a general ticket bought with no visit date selected is single-use and valid for 3 months from the date of purchase.[2] That option does not exist at Montañas del Fuego, where choosing a date and time is mandatory when you buy online.[3]
Mancha Blanca's hours also differ by source: MITECO states the visitor centre has opened every day from 9:00 to 16:00 since 1 July 2023, while Turismo Lanzarote's page instead gives 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. for the same building.[5][9]

Buying tickets online
Yes, you need a ticket for Montañas del Fuego before you arrive. CACT sells none at the box office, and when you buy online you must select a date and time, a rule it applies to both Montañas del Fuego and Cueva de los Verdes.[2][3]
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your booked entry time. There are no waiting areas on site for early arrivals, and if you turn up outside your scheduled slot the ticket is no longer valid, with no changes or refunds given.[2] If the time you want is not available online, it means that slot's visitor quota is already full.[2]
Three of the popular Timanfaya listings on GetYourGuide each advertise skip-the-line entry as part of the price, and each names the languages its live guide speaks.[6][7][8]
Opening hours, and why sources disagree
CACT Lanzarote's own ticket page states opening hours of 09:30 to 15:45, every day of the year.[1] Turismo Lanzarote separately names 1:00 p.m. as the recommended time to visit, though the source does not say whether that is for lighter crowds or better light.[5]
Two other official pages give different figures for the same site. Turismo Lanzarote's current sightseeing listing gives 09:00 to 16:45, and MITECO's national parks page states 09:00 to 17:00.[4][10] Whatever the listed hours, the time slot on the ticket you buy is the one you must arrive for.[2]

How long the visit actually takes
The duration shown on CACT's own ticket-booking card is a 90-minute slot, but the visitor guide on the same site instead states the visit takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.[1] MITECO's page gives a third figure: a duration of 45 minutes.[4]
Is Timanfaya National Park free? Not at Montañas del Fuego, where the general ticket is €30.00, though the separate Mancha Blanca visitor centre gives free access to its exhibition and audiovisual programme.[1][5]
That centre has its own attractions: a permanent exhibition on the Canary Islands' volcanism, a Simulation Room that recreates the sensations of an eruption, and an elevated walkway over lava that reached farmland in the 1730-36 eruptions.[9]
Is it cheaper to book a tour instead?
Buying the €30.00 general ticket yourself is the lower listed price for seeing Montañas del Fuego on your own.[1] The three GetYourGuide tours compared on this page cost more: a nine-hour tour taking in Timanfaya, Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes lists from US$102, a five-hour volcanic craters tour that also lists the Islet of Hilario lists from US$68, and a two-hour express tour with no queues lists from US$66.[6][7][8]
All three tour listings advertise skip-the-line entry and a live tour guide.[6][7][8] The two longer tours also list pickup, and only the nine-hour tour adds stops beyond Timanfaya, at Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.[6][7]
What the entrance fee doesn't include
The camel ride at the Echadero de los Camellos is not on the list of what the Montañas del Fuego ticket includes. It is paid separately, at €11 per person per trip, and children from age 4 pay.[1][11]
Food is separate too. El Diablo restaurant's volcano-grilled mains range from €18.00 for chicken thighs to €26.00 for entrecôte, with a children's menu priced from €7.00 to €9.00.[12]
Two audiovisual programmes at Mancha Blanca run for about 30 minutes in total, with simultaneous translation into Spanish, English, German and French, and the centre gives free access to them, so none of it draws on your Montañas del Fuego ticket.[5][9]
What each Timanfaya tour costs
Each bar is a GetYourGuide tour's own "from" price in US dollars. The €30.00 park ticket is in euros, so it is not charted here.[1][6][7][8]
